We recently held our annual "Get Together" celebration, bringing the entire Flagship team together for an unforgettable evening. As a member of Flagship's PR team, I'm excited to share the highlights of this special event.

A Global Team United

Flagship's flexible work culture lets team members choose between working remotely or from the office. Our year-end celebration brought together 43 team members, with 32 joining us in person—including colleagues from Hokkaido, Fukuoka, and Vietnam—and 11 participating virtually.

Celebrating a Year of Achievements

The evening kicked off with our annual review, where group leaders shared their teams' accomplishments. A major highlight was our recognition as Shopify Japan's "Enterprise Partner of the Year." We also celebrated the successful completion of several key projects and welcomed many new team members, marking significant growth across all areas.

Recognizing Excellence: The CEO Awards

The CEO Awards ceremony recognized team members who exemplified Flagship's core values. Those who championed innovation and pushed boundaries were honored for their "Hacker Spirit." The "Be Professional" award celebrated individuals who consistently delivered excellence, while the "Pay it Forward" recognition went to those who made outstanding contributions to their colleagues and the company. Our global presence was highlighted by international team members among the recipients.

Creating Memorable Moments

Sam, our Head of Engineering, kicked off the celebration with a toast. One of the evening's highlights was the authentic conveyor-belt sushi from Midori Sushi—a unique experience that delighted both our international and Japanese team members.

We hosted an inclusive bingo game that connected our in-person and virtual participants. A particularly special moment came when one of our team member's children won, bringing smiles to everyone's faces.

A Year in Review: Our Story in Film

We premiered a special five-minute video featuring both remote and in-office team members, showcasing the year's memorable moments and achievements.

Reimagining Team Celebrations

Our celebration caught media attention for its modern approach. True to Flagship's culture, we created an inclusive environment where everyone could feel comfortable, whether they preferred quiet conversations or lively interactions, alcoholic or non-alcoholic drinks. Our virtual participants remained actively engaged throughout the evening, making it a truly connected experience.

Looking Forward

The event sparked enthusiasm among our engineers, with many expressing excitement about spending more time in the office. Discussions also led to plans for new initiatives, including AWS study groups and technical workshops.

Thanks to our dedicated organizing team, this year's Get Together wasn't just a celebration—it was a reminder of how far we've come and an inspiration for where we're heading next.
